Track Overview

Shady Bowl Speedway opened in 1949 and has remained one of Ohio’s most active quarter mile asphalt ovals, known for its tight layout and intense short track racing. The facility has hosted late models, modifieds, compacts, and special touring events for decades, drawing strong local participation. Ownership invested in resurfacing, lighting upgrades, and pit improvements throughout the 2000s and 2010s, helping maintain the track’s reputation for competitive racing.
