Stadium Overview
The Toledo Sports Arena opened in 1947 and served as one of northwest Ohio’s primary indoor venues for more than six decades. The arena hosted hockey, basketball, concerts, boxing, and major touring events, becoming a beloved part of Toledo’s entertainment history. It was home to the Toledo Storm hockey team and numerous other sports franchises over the years. By the early 2000s, the building had become outdated and was demolished in 2007 to make way for new development. Despite its demolition, the arena remains fondly remembered by generations of Toledo residents.
